⚠️ Xenarchy is in early alpha. It's playable from start to finish, but expect bugs, rough edges, missing art and big balance changes between updates. Your feedback shapes where it goes next.

Alien races took armies from Earth's past and fused them with their own technology. Rome and the Korrath, Egypt and the Sythari, the Aztec and the Vael, the Zulu and the Ordo Machina. Lead one of them across a hex map, take every enemy capital, and win.

How it plays

  • Turn-based hero armies on a hex map with fog of war, cities, resources, ruins and wandering encounters.
  • Battles are decided by your preparation: you set your formation and targeting before the fight, then watch it play out exactly. There are no live orders.
  • Simultaneous turns: battles are fought when everyone ends their turn and replayed at the start of the next.
  • Each people plays differently: Roman formations and roads, Egyptian volleys and river wealth, the Aztec charge and tithe, and Zulu manpower, flanking and veterans.
  • A large technology tree, hero skills, walls, gates and siege engines, and isometric battles.
  • Play solo against AI peoples, or host or join a game with teams, clustered starts and AI difficulty.

Alpha notes

  • Updates are frequent and can change units, prices and rules.
  • Multiplayer needs everyone on the same build: if a game won't connect, refresh the page to get the latest version.
  • Found a bug, or something that felt wrong? Use Send report in the game. In a battle, open the ? help and click send report: the battle's log goes with it, so the fight can be replayed exactly. Anywhere else, use Settings → Send report. You can also post on the community board.
  • The browser version sends anonymous crash reports (what screen you were on when it broke) so crashes can be fixed faster.
